Draw a set of coordinate axes as shown below .

. Note that there are four sections formed by these set axes. . The "origin" is the point where the axes cross each other. . Quadrant I (or 1) is the upper right section of the coordinate system. If the origin was the center of a clock face, Quadrant I would be the part of the clock face where the hours 12, 1, 2, and 3 are located. .
